East Asia has seen massive growth in urban population in the last decade, as nearly 200 million people have migrated from rural areas to urban areas in the last ten years. China leads the chart followed by Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Other urban areas are Korea, Philippines, Singapore, Myanmar, Taiwan, Japan, Bangkok, Kuala lumpur. It must be noted that the Pearl River delta in China which has the cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Dongguan are rapidly facing urbanization.
